A 70-story skyscraper called The Orchard has become the tallest skyscraper in Queens, N.Y. Designed by architecture firm Perkins Eastman, the skyscraper recently reached more than 250 m (823 ft), making it the tallest building in the borough.

The building structure consists of an expansive podium covered partially by the tower portion.

The rest of the podium is shorter in height and will feature green spaces and parking spaces.

Renderings of the skyscraper show that it will be a largely symmetrical tower with two distinct vertical elements distinguished by slight differences in the color of the curtain wall.

The thinner of the two vertical elements will have steps near the top to make room for rooftop amenities. Its crown will span the broader vertical elements and have lit panels to create a geometric effect.
